As a leading manufacturer of industrial mixing equipment, we understand that procurement decisions hinge on robust technical performance and operational adaptability. The Straight Blade Impeller represents a cornerstone technology engineered to meet demanding fluid processing needs. Its design is optimized for media with viscosities below 2,000 mPa·s, and can reliably handle fluids up to 10,000 mPa·s in laminar flow conditions with proper configuration. This flexibility makes it an indispensable asset across chemical, pharmaceutical, and food processing sectors.
The impeller’s performance lies in its adjustable flow patterns. At lower rotational speeds, it generates dominant horizontal circumferential flow, ideal for gentle blending. As speed increases, the flow transitions into a radial pattern, enhancing diffusion effects. When baffles are installed, the system forms strong up-and-down circulation flows, effectively eliminating dead mixing zones. Some straight blade impellers also produce axial, radial and circumferential split flows, suitable for operations under laminar or transitional flow regimes.
In practical applications, this impeller performs well in solid suspension, heat transfer, high-viscosity processing and crystallization. For solid suspension, it balances volumetric circulation rate and turbulence intensity to prevent particle settling. In heat transfer systems, it improves turbulence intensity across heat transfer surfaces to increase thermal efficiency. High-viscosity operations rely on sufficient volumetric circulation at low speeds, reducing energy use while ensuring stable mixing. For crystallization processes, it coordinates volumetric circulation rate, shear force and low rotating speed to maintain uniform crystal growth and high product purity.
Through continuous technical improvement, straight blade impellers have developed into mature and stable products, available in detachable and non-detachable structures. When equipped with an impeller-to-tank diameter ratio (Dj/Dt) above 0.90 and multi-layer blade arrangements, they achieve efficient low-speed mixing for high-viscosity fluids. Tip speeds are controlled within 1–3 m/s during laminar flow operation, ensuring stable and energy-saving performance. Choosing our straight blade impellers means acquiring a reliable, professionally optimized fluid mixing solution that improves production efficiency and strengthens the overall competitiveness of your processing line.
